Ways to Volunteer with the Center
The Center relies on volunteer supporters to carry out most of its work. We have four general types of volunteers in the organization. Please read these general descriptions and the important topics for volunteers.

General Volunteers
General volunteers help the Center in wide variety of areas including research, administration, outreach, fundraising, graphic arts, technical support, and marketing. Some of our volunteers are professionals who donate their services to the Center. See Volunteer Projects and Tasks for a more specific list of current volunteer needs. If you would like to help the Center, please fill out and send us a Volunteer Application.

Interns
The Center will host internships for students or others who can make a regular commitment to a specific project for a semester or longer. The Center is willing to help an intern earn college credit or fulfill a community service requirement at their school or other program. See Current Internships for a description of positions now available and profiles of recent and current interns. See Profiles of Current and Past Interns and Key Volunteers.

Amazon Field Volunteers
Amazon Field Volunteers are people who assist a Center research or community support project in the field. This is a service learning opportunity for people who want to experience the Amazon rainforest first hand and play an active role in supporting its conservation and traditional peoples. Amazon Field Volunteers help the Center carry out its field projects with contributions of their time, energy and money. Click HERE for full program description. Read essays of past Amazon Field Volunteers: Natalya Stanko - What makes a journalist? and 37 more stories in Natalya's Amazon Log, Greg Harriott - I Need this Shot and Marissa Plowden - Marissa's Amazon Memories.

Board of Directors and Advisors
The Center is governed by volunteers who serve on the Board of Directors. Volunteer members of the volunteer Advisory Board provide advice, contacts, and access to resources to the Center to help it set its goals and conduct its programs. Please contact us if you are interested in supporting the Center on either of these boards.
