Woven hot pad (trivet) and center piece with blended color cat's eye
This unique chambira palm fiber hot pad (trivet) was designed by Bora native artisan Ines Chichaco from the village of Brillo Nuevo on the Ampiyacu River. It features a black and deep pink scalloped border, a large ring of blended pink, yellow and black and a black center that suggests a wild cat's eye. Remember that each craft is hand-made so there are slight differences between the craft and the photo of the model.
This craft comes into two sizes that can make a beautiful and sturdy hot pad, trivet or placemat.

Support native artisans & rainforest in the Amazon
Amazon forest loss is driving species to extinction, aggravating global warming, and robbing people of unique medicines, foods and other benefits. Cutting and burning forests is often more profitable than conserving them, so some native communities in northern Peru have illegally logged and grown coca and other cash-crops to escape poverty.
