Yoga Love and the art loving butterfly

In June, I sold Amazon Ecology crafts at the Yoga Love Festival at the Amethyst Retreat Center in Pennsylvania. It was a few great days in this beautiful place with people concerned with health for our bodies and the planet. Two fellow vendors were holistic healers Cathy and Candy who sponsor the Cosmic Cafe in Harrisburg.

I was very grateful that Diane from my Friends Meeting in Harrisburg helped me set up Friday evening and then brought me dinner to energize my 2nd push to midnight. I slept in my car wishing I had an extra pad to better cushion my back in the folded down back seat.

I finished setting up in the morning with people doing asanas in the tent next to me. Sales were slow, so I appreciated that friends Jhoti and Sarasvati from the Kula Kamala Ashram bought several crafts and did the full bird trivia quiz.

I enjoyed meeting Erica who I had just heard talking about eco-friendly landscaping on a public radio show and learned about her experience with many healing modalities and marketing. Kim who loved sloths and Sabrina who liked our spider became playful booth buddies.

Saturday evening was rough dealing with two hard rain storms. I used tall PVC poles to disperse water pools on the canopy and only ended up with one soggy turtle.

After a great vegan potluck dinner, Saturday evening had dance-inspiring music and a trio playing gongs and singing bowls that relaxed me to a dream-like state.

On Sunday, a butterfly first landed on a painting of a butterfly. I then photographed it next to a monarch ornament before it rested for a long time in front of a basket with a carved butterfly center.

Emily bought a bluebird ornament since she and her mother had a strong connection to this flying friend. I enjoyed Jhoti's kirtan group for a while before packing up. After everything was loaded into the car and trailer, I played a few sea shanties and my whale song accompanied by Michael and Emily keeping the beat by slapping the stage.

It was a much smaller event than the music festivals I usually vend at, but it left me with a spiritually enriched heart.
