Sapo huasca vine earrings - made by Peruvian Amazon artisan

Sale price$20.00

These earrings will connect you to a traditional practice of many shamans in the Amazon.  Each craft has a cross-section of a sapo huasca vine with a unique concentric circle pattern.  This plant is a relative of the ayahuasca vine often used in traditional healing ceremonies. Each model features a set of bamboo dangles with different beads above.

These earrings are made by skilled artisans from Iquitos who have worked with the Center for Amazon Community Ecology for ten years.  The French hooks are made with non-allergenic material.

Please remember that each pair of these earrings is unique and may vary from the photos shown.

Models: ARM12Z02 (bamboo); ARM12Z06 (huayruru & quill)

Support native artisans
& rainforest in the Amazon

Amazon forest loss is driving species to extinction, aggravating global warming, and robbing people of unique medicines, foods and other benefits. Cutting and burning forests is often more profitable than conserving them, so some native communities in northern Peru have illegally logged and grown coca and other cash-crops to escape poverty.
