We continue with the research work at Copal. On this occasion we made the transfer of bowling from one tree to another at the Centro de Investigaciones de Jenaro Herrera (CIJH) run by Instituto de Investigación de la Amazonia Peruana (IIAP).The action of a weevil, a member of the beetle family (Coleoptera), is normally responsible for the formation of resin masses in these trees. The process begins when a female places her egg inside the cortex. When hatching, the larva eats the inner crust and causes the liquid resin to escape into the outer crust which is known as a bolus.The objective of this research is to know the adaptation and survival of the weevil by changing it, observing the results over time.
