FROG - WOVEN AMPHIBIAN FAIR-TRADE CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT AND RING KEEPER - MADE BY PERUVIAN AMAZON ARTISAN
This unique fair-trade ornament represents a frog from the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. It will look great hanging on your Christmas tree, car mirror or adding a colorful touch to your home. It opens up on the side to reveal a place to keep a ring or small keepsake. These ornaments and ringkeepers were hand made with chambira palm fiber by campesino artisans from Manos Amazonicas (Amazon Hands) association in the village of Chino on the Tahuayo River. These frog ornaments come in two sizes. The medium version averages 2 x 1.5"; the larger version averages 2.75 x 2".
The sale of these ornaments supports forest conservation and helps meet local needs in traditional communities in Peru. Each ornament comes with a tag listing the name and village of the artisan who made it and the plants used to make it.
Please remember that each ornament was hand-made by the artisan so the exact design and color combination may vary from the ones shown in the model photo.

Support native artisans & rainforest in the Amazon
Amazon forest loss is driving species to extinction, aggravating global warming, and robbing people of unique medicines, foods and other benefits. Cutting and burning forests is often more profitable than conserving them, so some native communities in northern Peru have illegally logged and grown coca and other cash-crops to escape poverty.
