SNOWY EGRET FAIR-TRADE CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENTS - WOVEN BY PERUVIAN AMAZON ARTISAN
These unique fair-trade ornament represents snowy egret - the common white long-legged bird found near marshes and other water bodies in the Amazon and North America. We also have a few ornaments of a white egret and wattled jacana - two other common water birds.
These ornaments were woven with chambira palm fiber by a native Amazon artisan. The sale of these ornaments supports forest conservation and helps meet local needs in traditional communities in Peru. These bird ornaments were made artisans from villages on the Maranon River.
Each ornament comes with a tag listing the name and home of the artisan who made it and the plants used to make it.
