These elegant bowls were hand-carved by Peruvian Amazon artisans with chonta palm and chontaquiro wood. Both woods have a deep walnut brown lustre with an extra feature of the chonta being fine dark veins.
The chonta bowls were carved in the shape of a leaf. Its dimensions are 7 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall.
Chontaquiro, also known as black huayruru is a member of the diverse bean family. Its crafts include a rounded rectangle (5.0 x 3.75 x 1.6 inches), an oval (6.0 x 3.75 x 1.6 inches), and octagon (4" across, 1.75 inches tall).
Each bowl has a unique natural pattern of blended dark and lighter colored wood so each individual bowl will vary from the photo show for its model.
