MEADOWLARK WOVEN BIRD ORNAMENT - HANDMADE BY PERUVIAN AMAZON ARTISAN
Available in stock (11)
This unique fair-trade ornament represents the meadowlark - a songbird related to the blackbird which is found in grasslands across North America where it feeds on insects and seeds. This ornament most closely resembles the eastern meadowlark whose range extends into parts of the Caribbean and northern South America. Animals that breed in the most northern areas may migrate south in the winter.
This ornament will look great hanging on your Christmas tree, rear-view mirror or ading a colorful touch to another part of your home.
This ornament was woven with chambira palm fiber by a native Amazon artisan. The sale of these ornaments supports forest conservation and helps meet local needs in traditional communities in Peru.
These woodpeckers were made by a variety of artisans from many of the communities where Amazon Ecology works. Each ornament comes with a tag listing the name and home of the artisan who made it and the plants used to make it.
This bird is a new addition to our collection of North American birds so supplies are limited during this introductory period. Please remember that each craft was handmade so its exact design may vary from the photo shown of this model.
