Shipibo pattern calabash hand shakers - made by Peruvian Amazon artisan

These unique hand rattles are made from calabash tree pods by traditional artisans from the Peruvian Amazon.  These rattles feature the etched image of the ayahuasca vine flower and other traditional Shipibo graphic patterns.   

We have three sizes to ensure you have a size you can comfortably grasp or fit in the palm of your hand. Keep one in your purse or backpack so you will always be ready to initiate or join in with a creative rhythm. Since these pods come from trees growing in artisans' backyards not a plantation, the shapes vary from round to egg-shaped to elongated oval. Below are the size ranges that can be selected

Medium - Height: 2.75 to 3.75 inches; Diameter:  2.0 to 2.75 inches

Large -  Height: 3.5 to 4.5 inches; Diameter:  2.5 to 3.25 inches

Extra-large - Height: 4.25; Diameter: 3.5 inches

Please remember that the artisan carves these rattles one at a time so the exact design of the animal and shape of the calabash pod may vary from the photo shown of this model.
